March 28, 2017: The Richard S. Shineman Foundation awarded CNY Land Trust a challenge grant of up to $50,000 for the acquisition of Whiskey Island and Northern Great Bear, at Great Bear Springs Recreation Area in Volney, NY. From here on, your donation to the campaign will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, by the Shineman Foundation, up to $50,000 in contributions. This is an amazing opportunity for the whole community to make a difference in preserving this special place – and you can know that your gift to the campaign will be doubled! CNY Land Trust and Friends of Great Bear are very grateful to the Shineman Foundation for providing the community catalyst to energize our campaign.

You can make a difference! Please consider making a donation to ensure that GBSRA remains intact and permanently accessible to the public: http://cnylandtrust.org/donate/ For online giving, be sure to navigate to the donation “button” specific to the Great Bear campaign. Thank you!
