Preserve History
Marie's Woods was donated to The CNY Land Trust in 2008 by Jerry and Marie Blackman who purchased the 66-acre woodland with the intent of saving it from development and keeping it forever wild.

Site Features
Marie's Woods is a mixed woodland with predominantly cottonwood, elm, maple, beech, hemlock, and basswood trees, which makes it a haven for woodpeckers and flickers. The property contains approximately 15 acres of scattered wetlands, that are teeming with frogs and other amphibians. The undergrowth at Marie's Woods has many different kinds of ferns and wildflowers, making it a beautiful destination for hikers who are interested in observing some of the diverse flora of New York.
