CNY Land Trust & Baltimore Woods Nature Center Announce Joint Land Acquisition

Central New York Land Trust and Baltimore Woods Nature Center are excited to announce plans to acquire 90 acres of land as part of a joint acquisition, expanding the existing Marcellus preserve by almost 50% to 270+ acres.  Located on the adjacent property to the south, the parcel includes acres of woodlands, streams, and agricultural fields. The additional land will allow Baltimore Woods to expand the trail system and offer new environmental education programs and research opportunities for the Central New York community.

Since 1972, the Central New York Land Trust and Baltimore Woods Nature Center and have partnered to provide a unique place where people of all ages can connect to nature.  With over 182 acres of woodlands, streams, meadows, ponds, and overlooks, Baltimore Woods receives over 20,000 visitors each year, including over 600 summer campers.  The property at Baltimore Woods is one of over 3,000 acres of CNY Land Trust properties that preserve the geological variety and subtle beauty of Central New York.
