Wednesday Evening Walks with the Central New York Land Trust
The Central New York Land Trust’s Stewardship Committee invites you to join them for a series of evening nature walks planned for the upcoming summer. Each walk has been assigned a specific focus and will be led by an expert on the subject.
All walks begin at 6:00 p.m. Please dress for the weather. The use of insect repellent may be appropriate.
June 13 – Birding at South Meadow Nature Area, Tully
Directions from NY Route 80: Turn south at the traffic signal in the Village of Tully, proceed one block and turn left onto Onondaga Street; continue to the end of Onondaga Street. Turn right onto Grove Street and proceed over the railroad tracks. Park in the Cummings Park parking lot on your left.
July 11 – Locating Boundaries at High Hickory Wildlife Sanctuary, Spafford
Directions: Take either Rose Hill Road from Route 20 or Route 41 to Borodino. Turn onto Nunnery Road and then turn right on Richard Road. The entrance to High Hickory is approximately a half mile on the left. There is a small gravel parking lot.
August 8 – Wetland Values at Riverwalk Nature Preserve, Clay CANCELLED.
August 25 – Creatures of the Pond Exploration at Riverwalk Nature Preserve! 4:00 p.m.
Amphibians Galore! Please meet at the Montani home at, 6015 Wood Duck Path, Brewerton, NY., at 4:00 p.m. This program is a kid-friendly, family event where we will be looking at pond life, tadpoles, frogs, insects and anything else that shows up. Great fun for all ages!
September 12 – Forests and Wood Lots at Elbridge Swamp, Elbridge
Access to this preserve is through use of a trail at the end of Sunview Drive north off NY Route 5.
